Battery voltage is 12v. Fuses in glove compartment fuse block are all good. The DME fuses have been checked and are all good. Firstconnect red cable to the positive terminal of your X5’s dead battery, then to the positive terminal of donor battery. Next connect black cable to the negative terminal of donor battery, then to the bare metal in the engine bay of your X5. Start the donor vehicle and then your X5. Remove the cables in reverse order.

Ichecked my Bentley service manual. It only lists the valvetronic relay with the N52 engine and shows it located in the E-Box along with the ECM, windshield wiper relay, and DME main relay. Unfortunately, there's no mention of a Valvetronic relay associated with your engine but the E-Box for the V8 engine does contains a
