Guys, I've a lot about benefits of EGR delete like:-. - More power/more oxygen going into the engine. - Cleaner exhaust gases as not re-circulation is taking place. - No EGR blockages etc etc. What are the downside of doing an EGR delete. Surely it must be bad for the engine because :-. Whatare oil leaks. Oil leaks can be caused by a variety of factors, the main factor being incorrect pressure within the compressor and turbine housings. Oil leaks can cause catastrophic damage to the bearing systems and occur within seconds of the turbocharger commencing operation. When a turbocharger is installed correctly, it should NOT leak . #2. It's not an expensive mod, but its also kind of fallen off in popularity. When I started modding my jetta the EGR delete was just part of the recipe. These days removing that system is much more uncommon. Keeping the EGR has an advantage in that the engine coolant heats up quicker. Lowoil warning, EGR valve leaking oil, burning oil smell - please help! #1. toff. It is advised to purchase a later car, where the serial number ends in ‘B’, rather than ‘A’. The serial number can be found under the fuel lines.
TDI 2006 Jetta. Nov 8, 2018. #1. I have coolant leaking from the EGR area, also white smoke coming out the tail pipe. Air intake has a popping sound and air filter has a heavy layer black soot on it. My first thought is the EGR cooler is leaking into the recirculated exhaust into the intake. Second thought is a stuck intake valve. Theblank plates were made from 0.125" 2024-T6 Aluminum (double stacked for the exhaust manifold) with new factory seals/gaskets. The plate used over the EGR Valve hole was sealed with high temp RTV, New intake manifold gaskets (both) and exhaust stud nuts (2) were also used, including one stud on the exhaust manifold. UB6WpLe.
